The West Dean College Research groups each focus on an area of specialist research. Central to each group is a commitment to facilitate dialogue and collaboration across the various disciplines in the Schools of Conservation and Creative Arts.
The Research groups aim to enrich the students experience and support staff development by facilitating dialogue and exchange between parties relevant to the area of research, both inside and outside West Dean College. The specialist groups enable students, staff and external researchers to widen their knowledge and understanding of the relevant research area, and build links with national and international institutions with a shared research agenda.
Through internal and external research projects, seminars, symposia, conferences and publications the groups nurture a learning environment that supports research at the forefront of the stated discipline, further supporting West Dean College as a centre for excellence in Conservation and the creative arts.
The Research Groups feed into the West Dean Research Forum, which facilitates cross departmental activity, support and discussion.
